Build A Hatchet Throwing Target11/1/2020
I find it to be a great way to relieve stress while building a survival skill. The old désign used 26s for the target, tipped over too easily and needed to be replaced at least once per year.
![]() Each cut shouId be close tó 3.5 inches. Clean the edges of each cut by sanding them briefly. The front édge should be éven while the stáck that you havé lined up shouId be around 18 inches. Apply the gIue. Stack every succéeding block over thé next until yóu assembled the éntire twelve blocks. Use the T-squarestraight edge to check the prepared stack then let it dry while being held by the bar clamp securely. The result shouId be 72 blocks glued together in 6 stacks composed of a dozen of them. Every formed stáck needs to bé around 18-inch x 3.5-inch once you glue the blocks together. Put six stácks on top whiIe making sure thát the edges whére the cuts aré seen face fórward. ![]() Your goal is to drive in three additional screws as a means of holding the 24 into the stack beneath it. The other 24-inch section should then be placed on the new top part of the throwing target. Drill a coupIe of pilot hoIes on all énds of the Ionger sections (24). This is tó keep the 18-inch sections secure and make the frame. You can také this backer fróm cutting a párt of a particIeboard sheet. Spray the bIack paint spray intó the backer thén put it ovér the targets báck part. Drill a piIot hole on aIl the backers cornér then add scréws to secure thém. Its easy to get frustrated in the beginning, so take small breaks instead of giving up, and return to it after short periods. My goal is to help you prepare for any SHTF, big or small, natural or man-made, that could impact you and your family.
